Our taxi pulls over on the side of the road, seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

Our starting point is this stack of boulders about 5 by 5 feet and maybe 15 feet tall. Red weathered blocks with graffiti says “Benya 8 Millas” and carvings etched into the sides.

This structure is laying on top of huge natural red stone and immediately feels like a special place.

The anticipation had been building for almost a month now. This would be my last journey in Peru for this visit.

A Paqo guides me on this path. His name is Raul and he is a Master of Living Energy.

Standing on top of this rock, there are 4 puma paws engraved into the stone. Raul places a ceremonial quintu, a collection of cocoa leaves, in each paw to begin our sacred journey.

After our ceremony, we begin to walk on top the red rocks. As we walk along, Raul tells of a Lemurian Path that has been passed down for millennia.

This sacred Path leads to the Door of Wisdom.

He looks down and asks me what it looks like we are walking on. After a few moments of silence, he answers for me.

We are on a snake, in his broken English.

Sure enough, I look down and see the large rock as if we were tiny humans on a large snake.

As we move from the rock to the grass, we walk about 50 feet and he turns around and points me to look.

He asks me what that looks like.

A few moments later he tells me the backside of a puma.

This path has many animals guiding us.

Many moments of silence pass and we finally made our first stop.

We drink water and breath in the fresh air. Looking up, we see puffy white clouds that fill a rich blue sky. The red rocks and green grass vividly contrast.

It feels like an enchanted place with many stories to tell.

Raul points out several animals and stories in the rocks that are plain as day. But you can only see them from a very specific spot. The moment you move 5-10 feet, the image disappears into the natural landscape.

We move forward and he points to me a series of rocks and says this is a family. You can see what looks like about 8 people in a line moving in a direction. He tells me a story of an ancient human race that had to leave their homeland due to a natural disaster.

We keep moving through the field and Raul points out more animals. Each have their own story. Each story guiding the through Lemurian Path. Each story had so much depth and wisdom.

Each animal representing the essence of what it was in such simple yet profound ways.

If we had taken any other random path, we would not have seen any of the stories in the rocks.

As we continued, I noticed a few butterflies flying around us. Raul smiled and said that was a good sign. He said I would know what it meant soon.

We walk forward and soon I find a feather on the ground. Raul inspected the feather and said it was from an Eagle. He said that Eagle feathers aren’t common at all in this area. Especially for where we were heading.

Then he pointed to a rock on the ground and asked me to sit for a minute.

Raul steered his eyes toward two long rocks and began to tell a story of two caterpillars. A male and female caterpillar.

Both caterpillars sought the Door of Wisdom. They had made it to this point in the Path with the guidance of all these animals we had passed earlier.

These caterpillars discussed what it would be like at the Door of Wisdom and what would happen after.

The male caterpillar dreamed of all these different things. What it would mean and what would happen.

The female caterpillar didn’t have any expectations, but was open to what would unfold.

As I was hearing this story, I was feeling the metaphor deep within myself. I was noticing all the ways in which I had made expectations in life. Assumed something would go a certain way, and disappointed over and over because what was in my head didn’t happen in reality.

With each word he uttered, feeling the depth.

My eyes began to tear up.

It was a beautiful story. What was happening within me was very emotional.

Then Raul pointed over the field and asked what I saw.

It looked like a caterpillar. I said “where’s the other one?”

He said, “look at the face, what do you see?”

It was apparent that it was a scouring face. That of anger and disgust.

I began to weep.

It felt like all the disappointment in my life could be felt in this single moment. The anger of not getting what I wanted. The sadness. The story of not fulfilling my potential.

Raul told me that both had made it to the door, yet the male caterpillar wasn’t open to what the Wisdom offered him. His Heart and Mind closed off.

Then he pointed toward a large rock in the opposite direction that kissed the sky.

Immediately I identified it as a butterfly.

He said that the female transformed into a beautiful butterfly.

I continued to weep.

No matter how much guidance one can have. No matter how many people, divine messages or wisdom others share with you. It’s up to you on what happens when you meet with the Door of Wisdom.

After I dried my eyes a bit, I noticed another feather on the ground. This one bigger than the last one I found.

Raul examined the feather, saying it was another Eagle feather.

We continued down the Path.

Raul stops at this opening and looks in wonder.

We have arrived to the Condor Nest.

Raul explains that the Condors protect the Door of Wisdom. Inside this “nest”, he points out about 10 different rocks that look like Condors of all shapes and sizes.

A mother Condor. Condor eggs. Condors hatching out of eggs. “Teenage” Condors. And a large Condor that was the “father of the nest”.

We stood on a ledge that dropped about a hundred feet down.

He spoke to me about trust and initiation. Lemurians that took this Path would get initiated. He asked me to stand in front of him. I was directing facing the ledge, with my feet on the edge. He grabbed my hips and asked me to close my eyes.

He asked me to lean forward over the edge and feel what it would be like to fly.

I felt fear in my body, but I did as I was guided.

My body leaning over the edge at almost a 45-degree angle.

I opened my Mind and Heart and began to feel the feeling of freedom and flight.

It was very liberating.

I took a deep breath in and released.

After a few moments, he brought me back and gave me a big hug.

At this point, I still didn’t know where the Door of Wisdom was or how far away we were.

Raul walked away for a moment and I was left with my thoughts of what just happened.

Soon Raul returned and said it was time.

We move along the path down a very large rock wall.

About 200 feet down, we had finally arrived to the Door of Wisdom, also known as Aramu Muru.

What happens next is for another time...

Well, that’s it for this edition of the Joyful Sovereignty Weekly!
